Seal Impression of Nathan-Melek, Servant of the King
In this picture is a clay impression of a seal that was found in the City of David in 2019, bearing the name of Nathan-Melech. He is believed to be one of the officials in King Josiah's court who assisted in carrying out the King's religious reform.The inscription on the clay impression reads: “Belonging to Nathan-Melech, Servant of the King"The Bible mentions Nathan Melech in 2 Kings 23:11:
[King Josiah] did away with the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance of the House of the L-RD, near the chamber of the eunuch Nathan-melech, which was in the precincts. He burned the chariots of the sun
