Hoshana Raba (Sukkot) on the Mount of Olives

читайте и слушайте

After religious tolerance was restored, Jews could again visit Jerusalem but were only allowed to gather and pray on the Mount of Olives, to the east, overlooking Temple Mount.

A letter written in 1029 CE mentions “Am Yisrael”, the Jews, gathering on the Mount of Olives during Hoshana Raba, the 7th day of Sukkot.

It was customary for the Head of the Jerusalem Yeshiva to teach while standing on the "Chair of the Cantors", an allocated rock on the Mount of Olives.
