King Hezekiah of Judah
The final king mentioned in the opening verse of Isaiah is King Hezekiah of Judah, reigning from 715-687 BCE.
2 Kings 18:1 records, “In the third year of King Hoshea son of Elah of Israel, Hezekiah son of King Ahaz of Judah became king.
The Book of Kings goes on to say that Hezekiah “did what was pleasing to the L-RD, just as his father David had done.”
In 2015, this seal impression of Hezekiah was found at the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount, reading: “Belonging to Hezekiah, (son of) Ahaz, King of Judah.”
