The Book of Judges speaks of the tribes gradually taking possession of the land as allocated by Moses in the Book of Numbers chapter 34 and by Joshua in The Book of Joshua chapters 13 – 20.
The conquest of the land, however, had many challenges including many wars and the constant threat of falling into idolatry, as practiced by all the nations in the land.
