Sir John Mandeville Records Jewish Pilgrims in Hebron
In his book, The Book of Marvels, Sir John Mandeville mentions his travels in the Land. He mentions Jews praying at various sacred sites in Jerusalem.
He further describes a strong stone building built by Herod over the Cave of the Patriarchs, where Jews come to pray, and that they and others were not allowed full access inside the building.
