Last Crusader Stronghold Akko Destroyed

In 1291 CE, the last Crusader stronghold in Akko fell into the hands of the Mamluks, bringing the Crusader campaigns in the Holy Land to an end. 

From the fall of Akko to the Ottoman conquest, the Mamluks ruled the Land for 225 years, unhampered by outside attacks or major internal insurrections.

Overview

Akko was taken by the crusaders in 1187 and remained their capital and the  last Crusader stronghold in Israel until it  fell in 1291 CE at the hands of the Mamluks
