1440 CE
Rashbatz records 300 Jews in a Jerusalem synagogue during Shavuot
Rabbi Shimon ben Tzemach Doran, better known as the Rashbatz, in his halachic responsa “Sefer haTashbetz, records 300 Jews in the synagogue in Jerusalem on Shavuot in 1440 CE.
The synagogue was destroyed in 1474 CE by a Muslim fanatic mob led by a "Kadi", a Muslim Judge, and authorities extorted large sums of money from the Jews to rebuild it.
