The Arch of Titus and the Temple Menorah From Jerusalem to Rome

Read while you listen

The Romans immortalize the victory over the Jews and the conquest of Jerusalem with an illustrious monument. Domitian, Titus' brother, commissioned the 15-meter-high gate to be built exactly where the historic victory parade passed. Depicted on the arch of the gate are Roman soldiers crowned with laurel wreaths carrying the Temple vessels: the showbread table, silver trumpets, and the Menorah.
