Vespasian started to build the Colosseum in 72CE. It is the largest and most lavish amphitheater in Rome, known for its notorious gladiatorial contests and other spectacles. The project was fundedmainly by the spoils of war with the Jews. In the picture is the colosseum inscription that reads: "Ex Manubiis" meaning "[funded] from the spoils of war".

Titus, who completed the building also minted a commemorative coin in 80 CE depicting the Colosseum with a cheering crowd.
