Pierre Belon, French Doctor, Mentions Jews in the Tiberias and the Galilee
Christian pilgrim and French doctor, Pierre Belon, who visited Israel in the mid-1500s, mentions Jews in Tiberias and the Galilee in his book "Observations of Many Singularities."
He writes: “We look around Lake Tiberias and see the villages of Beth Saida and Korazim. The villages are now inhabited by Jews, who have newly built in many places around the lake, and engage in the practice of fishing; they have, it seems to me, a very good and abundant livelihood. “
